Texas Cup 2006 was held in Arlington, TX this year.
Simply Explosive, there are few other words to explain it. I was truly impressed with the level of
competition at this event. There was talent and skill all around and interesting bouts to watch in
every division. The caliber of the competitors was surely at it's highest. I had enjoyed myself all
day.
The younger divisions handled themselves like champions, they moved about with grace and
conducted themselves with integrity. They definitely displayed an inspiring taekwondo spirit.
These competitors
knew what they were doing; the confidence in
their own ability was so evident, and they were
all happy to be there.
The tournament was also well planned out. It
started timely and continued on without delays.
Movements were quick and painless as the
competitors had to shift from one mode into the
next.
A special division was put together and all looked on as two teams participated in friendly bouts
between USA and Mexico. Representatives sat in on each team to celebrate a milestone in the
Taekwondo relationship between USA and Mexico.
Both teams performed so remarkably you could only imagine the level of travel they all went
through prior to arriving at the tournament. There was a wide variety of competitors present,
coming from all walks of life. Taekwondo schools from all over the DFW area were present.
This tournament is a definite must stop for next year. CFTI, unfortunately did not have any
competitors participate this year but it should most certainly be something to strongly consider for
next year.
Sincerely,
Greg Rouse
